“...It is the family you make, not the one you are born into, that matters”. 💙
Y'all I have so many feelings 😩 this was SO GOOD. Have you ever been so invested in a series and it’s characters that even though terrible things happen you wish you were right there with them? 🙋🏻♀️
ACOWAR picks up right where ACOMAF left off with Feyre back at the Spring Court playing a dangerous game of deceit to crumble the court belonging to the man who betrayed her in unforgivable ways all the while gathering information that might assist her court in fighting against the War with the King of Hybern.
The onslaught was Cruel. Brutal. & Magnificent. Feyre is a badass b**** and her, Rhysand, and their incredibly flawed and beautiful family: Cassian, Azriel, Mor & Amren kicked ass!! I loved seeing Feyre train with Cassian & Azriel. I really enjoy seeing those close to Rhysand embrace and be there for Feyre both physically and emotionally.
We are introduced to A LOT of new characters as the Night Court works to forge unlikely alliances. I found it hard to keep track of all the names sometimes LOL. But let me just say Bravo! because Maas did an incredible job with the battle scenes. They were so descriptive that I felt as if I was right there on the battlefield. Some of the chapters felt like an episode of Game of Thrones LOL. Not the last season though because it was 🚮🚮🚮
Feyre & Rhysand relationship = goals ❤️No two other people deserve each other more (I hope to find my Rhysand someday😭🙌🏼). I loved that they still had their moments in the midst of the chaos. Rhysand is the king of consent and I absolutely adore how he is protective but still sees her as his equal. The amount of faith that he has in her
I need it. I want it. I want one. I want him. I know I can't have him. But someone clone him for me thanks.
Feyre's sisters Neesta & Elain play a bigger role in this installment. I loved the small moments Maas was setting up for Neesta & Cassian's love story (we saw a little bit in ACOMAF-I am excited to see what comes next!) Elain & Lucien's non-existent-even-though-Lucien-wanted-it-to-be-existent-relationship was
to say the least.
BTW guys, Tamlin still sucks. Even though he tried to redeem himself once or twice, the meeting with the High Lords scene solidified what a piece of trash he was and I'm honestly not sure how some people liked him ACOTAR (because I certainly did not).
Overall, I thought this was a great installment of the series. SO MUCH happens. SO SO MUCH. I loved it. Also, The Night Court team deserves awards for their vulnerability and badness. Seriously.
ACOWAR is action-packed, steamy and wildly entertaining. A story of revenge, sacrifice, friendship and hope for change.
What did you think of A Court of Wings and Ruin?
🔹Would I recommend it? Um YES!!
🔹Re-read it?: Absolutely!
🔹Scene Shout-Out: The Battle scene on the ice with Feyre, Lucien, Azriel, Cassian and Eris! The intensity!!
If you've already read A Court of Wings & Ruin check out my list of Shocking/Wtf & Swoon-Worthy moments below!

Shocking/WTF/ Swoon-Worth Moments
🔹Tamlin saying this :
"It was so easy for you to call me a monster, despite all I did for you, for your family. ..Yet you witnessed all that he did Under the Mountain, and still spread your legs for him. Fitting, I suppose. He whored for Amarantha for decades. Why shouldn't you be his whore in return?" (422)
clearly Tamlin knows nothing!!!! And he's salty AF. Hate hate hate hate him. He didn't learn a thing!!
🔹Feyre & Rhysand making love under a shield after the first night of battle and anytime in the book honestly.
🔹Mor confessing that she's really interested in females and though she enjoys the company of men she wants to find happiness with a woman and it is the reason why she doesn't want anything to do with Azriel.
Honestly super shocked about that admission I did not see it coming! But happy for Mor for speaking her truth she is still a badass as b****.
🔹Lucien's father not being his father
Lucien is a love child and his father is Helion, High Lord of the Day Court-this explains why Beron and the rest of his siblings hate him so much.
🔹 The Suriel's death:
I did not expect to be so damn heartbroken over this. But I cried right along side with Feyre.
🔹This scene:
Amren's eyes flicked up from the Book as Varian halted. A coy smile curved her red lips. There was still blood and dirt splattered on Varian's brown skin, coating his silver armor and close-cropped white hair. He didn't seem to notice or care as he strode for Amren. And none of us dared to speak as Varian dropped to his knees before Amren's chair, took her shocked face in his broad hands, and kissed her soundly. (556)
🔹Feyre, Neesta & Elain's father leading the human army across the seas to battle
🔹Neesta & Elain being the ones to kill the King of Hybern-they reminded me of Arya Stark in that scene if you know what I mean!!!
🔹And finally Rhysand & Amren both dying and then coming back to life
