She’s everything he wants….
Cold. Heartless. Deadly. Whispers of his name alone bring fear to fae and mortals alike. The Prince. There is nothing in the mortal world more dangerous than him. Haunted by a past he couldn’t control, all Caden desires is revenge against those who’d wronged him, trapping him in never-ending nightmare. And there is one person he knows can help him.
She’s everything he can’t have…
Raised within the Order, Brighton Jussier knows just how dangerous the Prince is, reformed or not. She’d seen firsthand what atrocities he could be capable of. The last thing she wants to do is help him, but he leaves her little choice. Forced to work alongside him, she begins to see the man under the bitter ice. Yearning for him feels like the definition of insanity, but there’s no denying the heat in his touch and the wicked promise is his stare.
She’s everything he’ll take….
But there’s someone out there who wants to return the Prince to his former self. A walking, breathing nightmare that is hell bent on destroying the world and everyone close to him. The last thing either of them needs is a distraction, but with the attraction growing between them each now, the one thing he wants more than anything may be the one thing that will be his undoing.
She’s everything he’d die for….

Review/Reaction:
WOW. First of all, I really liked Ivy from the Wicked series. She was a bit hard headed and naïve at times but I liked her. However, after reading these Novellas I realized that I liked Brighton A LOT more. Who knew little miss Brighton would go from becoming a shadow within the Order to one hell of a kick-ass- heroine?? LOVED her. Honestly she deserves all the hype.
Brighton is older, more mature, incredibly brave & kind. Before her attack she felt like an insignificant member of the order. Her mother and father were well trained fighters whom were incredibly respected by the Order. She never felt worthy. Before her attack, she was hoping to begin training,
“I’d finally be… useful. Worthy of those I called my friends and, most importantly, worthy of the legacy of my family."
Those of you who have read the Wicked series know that Brighton was a mere shadow in the Order. Someone you could count on to conduct research, run errands or ask for a ride; Never to fight in battle. In The Prince we are introduced to a new Brighton. A kickass, murderous Brighton that dresses up in promiscuous outfits to disguise herself so that she can seek revenge on those who changed her life forever.
As an empath like Brighton, I was able to connect with her a lot. The Prince had an evil past (being under a malicious spell by the Queen that causes you to be abusive and murder a bunch of people kind of does that) but she saw through it, understood the weight of his guilt, knew that your past doesn’t have to be all that you are and people can change. She definitely did. Unlike the Order, her passion to help find the younglings was also admirable. Fae or not, to Brighton, your life mattered.
And leave it up to Jen to make the villain of the Wicked series attractive & someone we evidently start rooting for 🙄🙄🙄
The sexual tension between these two was
“My back hit the wall, and then he was there, his large body crowding mine in. Panic began to blossom, but I fought it down. I started to raise my leg, aiming for where it counted, but he pressed his hips in, trapping a large thigh between mine.
“Foolish. So Very foolish,” he said. “Also kind of hot”. (Kindle PG 40).
I really loved how brazen Brighton was whenever the Prince tried to intervene,
“You can tell his royal Dickness that this is a public establishment and he does not get to dictate where I go and what I do.”
Overall, I loved how quickly the story began. Those who haven’t read the Wicked Series can still enjoy the Novellas. Jennifer does a great job at bringing new (or familiar) readers into the world of the Fae without giving too much. I loved getting small updates on familiar faces. The ending doesn’t necessarily end on a huge cliffhanger but definitely sets it up for the next installment, “The King”.
Would I recommend: Absolutely
Re-read it?: YES
